Newcastle 3 - Man Utd 3: Late Dummett effort stuns Van Gaal & Rooney #NUFC #MUFC




PAUL DUMMETT struck late on to spoil Manchester United and Wayne Rooney's night in a six-goal thriller at St James' Park.

Rooney had scored a stunner to give United what looked like another three points over Newcastle.
But left-back Dummett struck in the 90th minute, via a deflection, to win a point for relegation threatened Toon.

United had already thrown away a two-goal lead as Newcastle fought back to 2-2 before Rooney's wonder strike which came after a heavy touch from Dummett.

United took the lead after nine minutes when Rooney scored from the spot before Jesse Lingard slotted through Rob Elliott's legs.

But Georginio Wijnaldum pulled one back just before half time and then Aleksandar Mitrovic slotted home another penalty after he was pulled down by Chris Smalling.
Newcastle, who paraded new signings Henri Saivet and Jonjo Shelvey before kick off, stay in the bottom three while United drop to sixth after West Ham's win over Bournemouth.
