Most ridiculous celebrity appearance fees. Kim Kardashian, P Diddy, Mariah Carey, Kylie Jenner.
Have you ever wondered how much your favorite stars gets paid for just showing up? We took a look at the fees charged by some of the world’s most in-demand celebrities, and our findings might shock you. Showing face at an event for just a few hours can net celebs more than most people make in an entire year, and oftentimes they're just attending an affair that many of us would be happy to do for free.
Kim Kardashian West—Arguably the most popular star from “Keeping Up with the Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian West reportedly netted $500,000 for celebrating her 34th birthday at TAO nightclub in Las Vegas. The reality TV star was also allegedly paid half a million dollars to accompany billionaire Richard Lugner to the Vienna Opera Ball in Austria last year.
Mariah Carey—The singer was reportedly paid $300,000 for an hour-long appearance as the "Queen of Christmas” at the Pier 1 Imports: Christmas Pop-Up Storybook store in New York City earlier this month.
Cameron Diaz—The actress who gained fame from her roles in the blockbuster films My Best Friend’s Wedding and There’s Something About Mary charges a minimum of $150,000 for U.S. appearances and $300,000 for international events, according to Celebrity Talent International. The final fee depends on several factors including location of the event, where the celebrity is traveling from, and the length of the commitment.
Kylie Jenner—The youngest daughter in the hit reality TV show “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” reportedly received $200,000 for showing up to her own 18th birthday party at an InList event at Beachclub in Quebec.
Sean P. Diddy Combs—The record producer and entertainment mogul can net up to $1 million for U.S. events and up to $2 million for international appearances, according to Celebrity Talent International.
So how can celebrities demand such high fees? For brands, the logic is simple—it’s a chance for companies to expose their venues or products to a larger audience than what traditional advertising can provide.
