Simon Cowell has kept remarkably quiet ever since Zayn Malik sensationally quit One Direction back in March, but the music mogul has now opened up about the singer’s decision - and he really isn’t happy.
In case you have been living under a rock for the past nine months, Zayn opted to quit the biggest boyband on the planet in order to be a “normal 22-year-old” and make “real music”.

Zayn gave his first interview since quitting the band a few weeks back, where he slagged off One Direction’s music - a move that his old boss has dubbed “rude”.
Speaking about Zayn’s decision, Simon explained: “I think once he has had a chance to reflect on everything he will probably reconsider what he’s said because it was a very, very democratic process in the band.
"It is a bit rude to the people who wrote all the hits with them. And to the other band members. I mean they all wrote a lot of the stuff.Simon Cowell Is Not Happy With 'Rude' Zayn Malik

"Life could have been a lot worse, right?”
Well, when you put it like that…
However, keen to prove that he is totally over Zayn, Simon added that he hasn’t really thought about the brooding heartthrob since March.
He shared: “To be honest I don’t even think about it too much because as soon as he left we sorted him out with a label who really were enthusiastic about him and then my loyalty was back with the boys.

"They had no warning. Not that they needed me but I wanted to show that I was there for them and that they could continue without him – and they did.”
Zayn didn’t hold back when discussing his life in 1D when interviewed by trendy Fader magazine, admitting that he was never happy with the band’s sound.
He dished: “There was never any room for me to experiment creatively in the band.

"If I would sing a hook or a verse slightly R&B, or slightly myself, it would always be recorded 50 times until there was a straight version that was pop, generic as f*ck, so they could use that version.
"There was just a general conception that the management already had of what they want for the band, and I just wasn’t convinced with what we were selling.”
We think it’s safe to say that Simon and Zayn won’t be sending eachother Christmas cards this year…
