After Holly Holm shook up the world of the UFC by defeating Ronda Rousey, fans have been wondering when and if there will be a rematch. On Thursday, fans finally got a definitive answer.
During an appearance on ESPN’s Mike & Mike show, UFC president Dana White confirmed that there will be a rematch between Ronda Rousey and new bantamweight champion Holly Holm.
“Yeah, I think that if we didn’t make the rematch, me and Lorenzo should probably lose our promoters’ license if we didn’t make that rematch,” said White. “Yeah, that fight’s going to happen. I don’t know when, but that’s the fight that will happen.”
White added, “Ronda Rousey has gone undefeated, taken the sport to another level and was beating the best women in the world in fourteen seconds or thirty seconds, so she deserves a rematch. Holly agrees she deserves a rematch, and we’ll figure it out.”
Exactly when the rematch will happen is unclear, as Rousey is also scheduled to star in an upcoming remake of the movie Roadhouse.
