David Beckham has come out in support of Jose Mourinho following his sacking as manager of Chelsea.
Despite the Blues' slow start to the current Premier League campaign, Beckham is in no doubt that the Special One remains one of the best managers in football.
The former England captain also admitted he loves Mourinho and that he hopes to see him back in the Premier League sooner rather than later.
He said, per Goal.com:
Unfortunately this is how football is, but there is no disputing that Jose is one of the best managers in football.
Winning the league last year [with Chelsea], virtually the same squad this year – it is obviously surprising to see their league position. But I love Jose, I think he is an incredible manager, a great person and he is passionate about the game.
I hope he comes back to the Premiership quickly because the English public love him, the fans love seeing him on the sideline and they love his character, so it is a shame to see him leave.
Mourinho is sure to be a wanted man, but it remains to be seen who makes their move for him next. An MLS franchise in Miami might well be interested in a few years' time.
